Ukraine and Israel have ended the latest round of negotiation as to the Free Trade Agreement between the countries

In Tel Aviv, the VII round of the negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Israel have been held.

“The negotiations are quite intense and complicated but we were able to reach the final straight”, Nataliia Mykolska, the Deputy Minister, Commercial Representative of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, has published on her Facebook page. In her words, Israel is a significant part in the export strategy of Ukraine.

“It is very important, that the Free Trade Area will be creating bigger possibilities for Ukrainian exporters and that is why we are trying to provide a duty-free access to as many as possible agricultural and industrial goods to the Israeli market”, has been noted in the mentioned post.

The Deputy Minister has stressed the importance of signing the Agreement with Israel which will allow generating more export leads for Ukraine, that is why Ukraine is aiming to make an extensive list of goods that will be able to avoid duties and be competitive on the Israeli market. In particular, as Ukraine is preparing to join the regional Pan-European and Mediterranean convention which Israel is a part of, it will allow the Ukrainian products to enter the global value-added chains.

“Even now Ukrainian export of goods to Israel is showing sustainable growth. In the last seven months of 2017, Ukraine exported $345.7 million worth of goods and that is 25.6% more compared to a respective period of 2016. We are in no way stopping. We are working in creating new Free Trade Areas to give bigger possibilities for national companies for trade and exports”, Nataliia Mykolska wrote.
