Price index for steam coal has strengthened by 1,4%

Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Republic of Indonesia has published the monthly price index of steam coal (HBA) for April, 2016 on the level of 52.23 US$/tonne, which is 1.4% higher than in March, but 19% lower than in April, 2015.

HBA index is used as a base to calculate the rate of royalty payments for 73 brands of Indonesian coal, which mining companies have to pay for each tonne sold in the local market or exported.  The indicator is relevant for coal of 6322 kcal/kg GAP, with the content of: moisture 8%, ash 15%, sulfur 0.8%.
