Germany production of Wood processing equipment has gone up by 14% in 2016

Germany has shown an unexpected increase in the manufacturing of Wood processing equipment in the 2016. Moreover, revenue from sales of the mentioned equipment was record-breaking and reached 3.2 billion euros. The previous sales maximum of 3 billion euro has been reached in 2007. Formerly the experts of the German association of wood processing equipment (VDMA) have made a forecast of a 5% rise in manufacturing volumes compared to the year before.

In the last years, the production volumes of wood processing equipment in Germany was growing quite slow the annual gain was 2-4% and the revenue was in the range of 2-2.3 billion euros. The gains in sales in the South of Europe the producers are directly relating to the tax cuts introduced in this region. The demand for this equipment in East European countries (CIS) can be described as stable. The biggest sales gains came from the Pacific countries, Africa and Asia (42%, 60%, and 18% respectively) and North America remains the biggest importer of German origin wood processing equipment. VDMA association considers the Chinese market to be high promising. In the coming future, the biggest production of wooden boards shall be done in the Celestial Empire.
