Price index up 1% for steam and energy coal

Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has published the monthly Price index of steam coal (HBA) for April 2017 at $82.51/ton, FOB, which is 1% more than in March, however, is 58% higher than in 2016 respectfully.

HBA price index is the benchmark for the calculation of royalty payments for 75 brands of Indonesian coal, which the mining companies have to pay per metric ton for the coal sold in the domestic market or exported. The Index is calculated for the coal with the following properties: GAR 6322 kcal/kg, moisture content 8%, ash 15% and sulfur – 0.8%.
