Public Joint-Stock Company Ukrtransgaz has issued a report on the operation of the Ukrainian Gas Transportation System for the 10 months of the year 2017.
Transit
Ukrtransgaz has transmitted 77.4 bcm of natural gas to the European customers which are 18.5% more than last year respectively; if compared to October 2016 there has been a decrease of 1.2 bcm but, nevertheless, the record-breaking volumes in January-October are still evident and are the highest in the last seven years.
Subsurface Gas Reservoirs
From the beginning of the year, 9.1 bcm have been pumped-in to the natural gas reservoirs allowing Ukraine to have a stock of 17 bcm of the fuel. In October the pumping-in stopped and there has been an offtake of gas in the volume of 138.8 mcm which is two times lower than in October 2016.
Imports
For the last 700 days, Ukraine is not importing natural gas from Russia. All volumes are coming from EU countries, moreover, in the 10 months of 2017 from the European direction 1.5 times more gas has been supplied reaching 11.8 bcm.
Production
If compared to January-October 2016, 500 million cm more of natural gas has been nationally produced which is 3% more and reached the total production of 17.3 bcm for the 10 months of 2017.
Consumption
As of October 31, 2017, Ukraine consumed 21.1 bcm of natural gas which is 4% less compared to the 10 months of last year.
